Situation

Scan cycle settings for send directory isn't reflected if set to above 30 when gwia loads
Changing the scan cycle for gwia above 30 doesn't take effect when gwia loads

Resolution

Please upgrade to GroupWise 8 GWIA. Before upgrading the GWIA, make sure to upgrade the MTAs and the POAs.

Steps to Duplicate
  1. Open ConsoleOne with GW snapins
  2. Right click GWIA object and click properties
  3. Select SMTP/MIME Tab - settings page
  4. Change the Scan cycle for send directory to anything above 30 for e.g: 60
  5. Save the changes
  6. Edit gwia.cfg file ideally located in sys:\system folder or /opt/novellgroupwise/agents/share folder
  7. Add /p-60 if gwia.cfg is on NetWare or add --p 60 in gwia.cfg on Linux, save changes
  8. Load GWIA and observe the idle time under status column and that never changes above 30
