Error: "error getting volume information"

Symptoms:
Error: "error getting volume information" while trying to get volume information through NCPCON

Changes:

Applied the "novell-ncp" package coming along with FTF 3 for Novell eDirectory 8.7.3 Support Pack 9 on the Novell Open Enterprise Server (OES) Linux server with Support Pack 2

Corrective Actions:
1. Login as "root" on the OES Server
2. Place the OES Support Pack 2 CD number 3 in the CD-Drive of the server
3. Change to the subfolder "suse/i386" available in the CD-ROM using the "cd" command
4. Display the "novell-ncp" RPM files in the directory using the command "ll novell-ncp" and look for the file novell-ncp-5.0-85.x86.rpm
5. Upgrade the "novell-ncp" package using the command "rpm -Uvh "
6. Reboot the server and check again

Notes:
Version of the "novell-ncp" package on an OES 1 Support Pack 2 Linux server is 5.0-85. FTF3 for Novell eDirectory 8.7.3 Support Pack 9 contains an older version of "novell-ncp" package
Verify the version of "novell-ncp" packag using the command "rpm -q novell-ncp" before and after upgrade
