Environment

Novell SecureLogin v 6.1
NSL6.1

Situation

When SecureWorkstation is installed with NSL6.1, the SecureWorkstation Quick Login Logout interface (QLL) is
always added.

Steps to duplicate:
- Install NSL6.0 with SecureWorkstation, but not with the QLL
- Install NSL6.1. The QLL interface will be added.

Resolution

Delete NWSQLL from the start up group. This is a known issue, noted in the NSL6.1 Readme.

When Secure Workstation is upgraded from Novell SecureLogin 3.51 or 6.0 to Novell SecureLogin 6.1, the Quick Login and Logout interface is installed even if this component was not installed with Novell SecureLogin 3.51 or 6.0. This is because NSL 6.1 uses a .msi based install, and prior versions use a .exe based install. A .msi install can not detect sub-components laid down by a .exe install.

If the Quick Login and Logout interface is not wanted, it can be easily removed from the Startup programs menu. Simply delete the NSWQLL entry from the registry at HLKM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Run. Removing this entry will not impact the functioning of Novell SecureLogin or Secure Workstation.
