During stress testing using IDM, a potential issue was noticed. When adding large numbers of users via the LDAP driver, memory utilization by ndsd is increasing rapidly. This happens when object creation range is ramping up from 80000 user objects to 100000 user objects. In one case memory drastically increased from 1 GB to 1.4 GB on a 32 bit high end machine. This may cause a core when object creation range reaches about 200000 user objects or so.
T hat is the eDirectory memory consumption behavior you will see on Unix/Linux if you don't tune the eDirectory cache parameters.
