Environment

Novell iManager 2.7
Novell Open Enterprise Server 2
Novell SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 SP1

Situation

iManager corruption
need to re-install iManager

Resolution

How to re-install iManager 2.7 on a OES2 server
1) if you renamed the /var/novell/tomcat5/nps directory to a different name, please rename it back to nps. (NetWare 6.5 steps to uninstall iManager will not work on OES2 Linux)
2) Remove the iManager package by typing the following:
rpm -e --nodeps novell-imanager
3) launch yast | under groups choose Open Enterprise Server | Choose OES install and configuration | Make sure the OES2 install CD is mounted and when the Software Selection window comes up, select the Details button and then choose the iManager pattern | you will notice that the package list on the right shows novell imanager as unchecked. Check the box to install it and then continue by choosing the accept button. | On the Open Enterprise Server Configuration screen, under iManager, choose reconfigure is disabled. It will now change it to reconfigure is enabled. | choose the next button | this will now re-configure iManager and install the plugins, this can take some time. | Once the installation is completed, type "/etc/init.d/novell-tomcat5 stop" to stop Tomcat and then "/etc/init.d/tomcat5 start" to start Tomcat.
