Novell ZENworks 11 Configuration Management Support Pack 1 - ZCM 11 SP1

Situation

Randomly, GPO security and WSUS settings fail to apply.

Resolution

This is fixed in version 11.2 - see KB 7010044 "ZENworks Configuration Management 11.2 - update information and list of fixes" which can be found at https://www.novell.com/support

Cause

If a GPO unset on logoff fails, the setting may not be reset on login.

Additional Information

In order to force GPO settings to "always apply" on login, set the following registry key:

HKLM\software\novell\zcm\ReApplyPolicyatDeviceStartup

DWORD:  0 is off, 1 is on.

Note:  Always apply policies on startup can slow down logins, so only use as needed.
