Situation

Purpose:
Which firewall ports must be open for a Novell GroupWise Client to access a post office remotely?

Resolution

There are two options to address this:
1. You must open the client/server port (default is 1677) and all high ports.
2. It is much safer to use the Proxy IP Address configuration available in Novell GroupWise 6.5 and later. Please reference the following link for instructions on how to implement this option. Securing Client/Server Access through a Proxy Server.
