Novell ZENworks 7.5 Asset Management - ZAM7.5
Situation
In the Asset Inventory section of the WebConsole, it shows the amount of workstations with a certain product installed. In the Software Compliance report it has a column called instances , which seems to show the number of machines that have the product installed. This may cause some confusion if the numbers are not the same in both reports.
Resolution
Fixed in ZENworks Asset Management 7.5 Interim Release 12 or newer
Interim Releases can be scheduled to run automatically or can be downloaded manually at https://download.novell.com. The Interim releases can be set up within the ZAM Manager for the Task server to check the site on a scheduled basis, and download and apply them automatically. Please refer to the Help Section details of how to set up automatic downloads if desired.
Each interim release is cumulative. If Interim Release 12 is not available due to a newer interim release being placed on the website, be assured that the code needed is in the later release.
Additional Information
The software compliance report shows usage numbers for the product instead of currently installed numbers like the Asset Inventory report does. The usage numbers may include machines that have been removed. The wording for the Software compliance report is being changed to make this more clear.
