Situation

Symptoms:
E-Mail address with a dot gets truncated when a mail is saved in the draft folder
E-Mail address with a dot gets truncated when a mail is saved in the draft folder in the Caching mode
Email address with a dot gets truncated when a mail is saved in the draft folder
Email address with a dot gets truncated when a mail is saved in the draft folder in the Caching mode
E-Mail address with a dot does not get truncated when a mail is saved in the draft folder in the Online mode

Resolution

Corrective Actions:
Upgrade to GroupWise 7 Support Pack 3 Client or later

Additional Information

Steps to Duplicate:
1. Install GroupWise 7 Support Pack 2 HotPatch1a Client
2. Login as a user in the Caching mode
3. Click New | Mail
4. In the To field, type abc.def@gmail.com without quotes
5. Fill in the Subject and the Message Body
6. Click File | Save Draft
7. Save it in the "Work in Progress" folder
8. Exit out of the mail
9. Switch to "Work in Progress" folder and open the saved mail
10. Click Send
11. Switch to "Sent Items" and view the Properties of the mail just sent. It would show as abc.def@gmail.com(abc) instead of abc.def@gmail.com(abc.def@gmail.com)
