Novell Teaming + Conferencing 1.0
Novell SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10
Novell SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 Support Pack 1
Novell eDirectory 8.8.2
Novell Conferencing is installed correctly.
Novell Conferencing is configured to use LDAP authentication against eDirectory
- Users who login to eDirectory with âFirstname Lastnameâ logins cannot login to Conferencing.
- Users with login ID's that contain a space cannot login to Conferencing.
- User ID's with spaces have the spaces replaced with a plus symbol â+â.
- To login to Conferencing user must replace space in login ID with a plus symbol â+â.
This problem has been reported to development.
Remove the spaces from the user login ID's.
The Conferencing LDAP implementation converts spaces to plus symbols â+â.
Common configuration is that in eDirectory the User ID has a space in it. For example the User ID (uid) maybe a âFirstname Lastnameâ like âJohn Doeâ. If this is the case and then LDAP authentication is configured in Novell Teaming+Conferencing then the login for Teaming will still be âjohn doeâ but the login for the Conferencing will be âjohn+doeâ.
Also, if you configure the Teaming LDAP synchronization to include the zonName option (zonName=uid) it will populate the zon name field in Teaming but it will be incorrect and need to be modified to replace the space with a plus symbol â+â.
