Environment
Novell iFolder 3.5 on Open Enterprise Server 2 Linux
Situation
After rebuilding the iFolder server data storage location, iFolder
clients will not connect. Network captures reveal an error
500 being returned stating :
INVALID DOMAIN ID
INVALID DOMAIN ID
Resolution
Each client will need the data removed, and rebuilt. The
process is :
- First, convert the iFolders on the workstation to regularfolders to prevent synchronization.
- Stop and exit out of the iFolder client.
- Delete the iFolder client storage location, for example :
Documents and Settings/username/Local Settings/Application Data/simias
- Restart the iFolder client.
- Convert the regular folders back to iFolder.
Additional Information
This is occurring due to the client and the server creating a
Domain-ID. On rebuilding the iFolder, a new domain ID is
generated, and this must match the client. Only on rebuilding
the clients local store can it reconnect to the server.
