Configuring NMAS to log to Novell Audit

Novell Modular Authentication Service (NMAS)

Situation

There are several prerequisites to setting up NMAS auditing to Novell Audit. The following must be installed and configured properly:
3. NMAS lsc file. This file is found in the following locations:
  • NetWare: sys:\system\schema
  • Windows: novell\nds
  • Linux, Solaris, AIX and HP-UX: /opt/novell/eDirectory/lib/nds-schema (relative to where eDirectory is installed)

4. NMAS plugin

Resolution

Import the NMAS .lsc file.
1. From the Roles and Tasks menu, click Auding and Logging > Logging Server Options
2. Click the Log Applications tab
3. Place a check in the "Applications" box and choose 'New' from the Application Actions menu
4. Give the Log Application a name. ie: "NMAS"
5. Browse to, and select the nmas lsc file.
6. Click OK
Auditing must be enabled using the NMAS 3.1.3 plug-in for iManager.

1. From the Roles and Tasks menu, click Directory Administration > Modify Object.
2. Browse for and select the Login Policy object, then click OK.
3. Click the NMAS tab, then click Settings.
4. Click the box next to Enable auditing, then click OK.
