Environment

Products:
Novell GroupWise 6.5
Novell GroupWise 6.0
Novell GroupWise 7

Situation

Symptom:
Error: "Dictionary not found"
Unable to rebuild Post Office
Unable to rebuild Domain

Change:
Applied GroupWise Support Pack

Resolution

Corrective steps:
1. Browse to the Software Distribution Directory\Domain
2. Copy all the *.DC files and paste it in the Domain Directory to which we are connected while rebuilding the Post Office or Domain
3. Also make sure that the GroupWise snapins in ConsoleOne are of the same version as the GroupWise Agents. It can also be newer than current version of GroupWise Agents but cannot be older

Additional Information

At times the *.DC files for GroupWise can become corrupt as with any file on a computer. The *.DC files are used as templates when creating or modifying GroupWise objects. When you cannot rebuild a post office / Domain and receive the above error try to replace the current live systems *.DC files in an attempt to resolve this issue.

A copy of the new *.DC files can be obtained from a GroupWise CD or Software distribution directory. Copy the *.DC files from the CD or SDD/domain directory to the live systems domain directory and over write the existing ones. Do the same for the post office. Copy the *.DC files from CD or SDD / po directory to the live post office directory. Be sure to use the same version of .DC files as the GroupWise system by insuring that the Software directory (SDD)and or CD you copy from is the same version as the live domain and or post office. You only need the correct version and do not need to worry about support pack level.
