Situation

Symptoms:
Open File Manager deactivates and the driver unloads during backup

ERROR: "COMN-3.22-34 Severity = 5 Locus = 2 Class = 6 NSS-2.70-5005: Volume /_SV user data write (20204(zio.c[2201])) to block 343165(file block 407)(ZID 198375) failed.

COMN-3.22-1092 Severity = 4 Locus = 3 Class = 0 NSS-3.00-5001: Pool /_SP is being deactivated. An I/O error (20204(zio.c[2179])) at block 511874(file block -511874)(ZID 2188) has compromised pool integrity.

SERVER-5.70-1533 Severity = 4 Locus = 3 Class = 6 Device"[V098-A4-D4:0] Open File Manager Synchronized Device" deactivated due to driver unload." in SYS:\SYSTEM\SYS$LOG.ERR

ERROR: "
Pool cache space exhausted while still expanding.
Pool _SP has been deactivated.
Unsynchronizing Open File Manager." in SYS:\SYSTEM\OFM\OFMNW.LOG

Resolution

Corrective Actions:
1. Make a backup copy of SYS:\SYSTEM\OFMCDM.CFG
2. Edit SYS:SYSTEM\OFMCDM.CFG and increase the following parameters for each [Device or Pool ] listed.

InitialCacheSize = 0x200000 (This is 2MB, set it up to 16MB (0x1000000h))
CacheSizeExpandThreshold = 0x1e (This is 30%, reset it to 48% (0x30))
3. On the Netware Server System Console type the following to unload and load client and Open File Manager
