Situation
How to avoid the ZAM database upgrade portion of the install TSCINST.LOG (found at the root of C: on the installing workstation) shows that the database upgrade was successful, however the file store portion of the install failed.
The DBUpgrade.log file in the \bin directory of the installing workstation shows a successful upgrade to the database.
Resolution
If the database upgrade completes successfully, but the filestore install fails, check the following two tables in the database:
In the registry on the machine being used to perform the upgrade, add the following to skip the db portion of the install. THIS MUST BE SET at the WELCOME screen.
NC_NetCensusInfo - look at the dbSchemaVersion to confirm it displays the version you're upgrading to. If this shows the correct version, then proceed. If it is not the correct version, then you must run the database upgrade again.
In order to retry the upgrade you must unblock logins by modifying a table in NC_LoginInfo. Do not unblock logins if you are using the Database Bypass registry setting. This field will be changed back to Unblocked once the Filestore portion is completed successfully.
NC_LoginInfo - change the LoginBlocked value from 1 to 0 (If the LoginBlocked value is 1, then you will not be able to retry an upgrade)

Additional Information
In some ZAM install instances, the database portion of the install (upgrade) completes successfully, however the File Store portion of the install (which comes immeidately after the database portion of the install) will fail for some reason, causing the administrator to have to retry the install. On the retry, the administrator needs to skip the database portion of the install.
