NCPCON Error 111 unable to access volume information

This could occur if you have an incomplete or faulty installation of the server into the eDirectory tree, only discovered by trying to create an NCP volume in NCPCON.

ncpcon volumes

returned error 111 unable to access volume information

ndsrepair -U

returned"...unable to access directory services..."

ndsconfig upgrade -a

returned no errors.


Remove and Re-Add to the Tree by doing the following:

1. Remove the Server from the Tree with the following command.
ndsconfig rm -a
2. Reboot
3. Re-Add the Server to the Tree with the following commands.
ndsconfig add -t TREE_NAME -n XXX.YYY.ZZZ -a -p root_server_address
ndsconfig upgrade -a

Once complete you should now get normal messages for the following.

ndsrepair -R
returns no errors. Works normally.

ncpcon volumes
shows SYS volume with no errors.
