Situation

System locks up trying to use imaging.
PCMCIABOOT=NO must be used to get to the bash prompt.
ACPI=OFF must be used to get to the bash prompt.

Resolution

For ZDM7: Fixed in ZENworks 7 with SP1 Desktop Management, available athttps://download.novell.com.

For ZDM6.5 SP2: fixed in ZENworks 6.5 Desktop Management SP2 IR1 or newer found athttps://download.novell.com
Add the following to the settings.txt

modprobe fan
modprobe thermal

Additional Information

The Kernel is turning off the Thermal and Fan on the Laptop during boot.
