Situation
Symptoms:
When running a vldb repair , for any NetWare server running eDirectory 8.8.2 the following message is shown : [Pre-NetWare 6 server - ignoring] in the vldb repair log.

Root Cause
When VLDB does a repair, it tries to
contact the Volume Manager on each server to get more information
on the volumes for that server which do not have volume objects in
the tree.
As DFS was introduced only in NW 6, it ignores pre Netware 6 servers as the Volume Manager will not be available on those servers. .
This is messge is being shown because of a change in one of the attributes in the server object because of which VLDB assumes the server is pre Netware.
The VLDB will add entries for all those volumes in the server that have eDir volume objects in the tree and most volumes have eDir objects.
