HTTP Error 500 when editing License Information
Upgrading to Tomcat 5 and JDK 1.4.2 for use with ZAM 7 or 7.5

Resolution

Follow these steps to upgrade your JDK and Tomcat versions:

Stop the Apache Tomcat service

Stop the Web Console Updater service

From Add/Remove Programs, uninstall the ZENworks Asset Management - Web Console

From Add/Remove Programs, uninstall Apache Tomcat 4.0

From Add/Remove Programs, uninstall the JDK 1.3.1 version

and then reinstall the ZENworks Asset Management Web Console from either of the following two locations

> ZAM_CD\modules\setup.exe or

> Filestore\setup\modules\setup.exe

Additional Information

Previous installations of ZAM installed Java 1.3.1 and Tomcat 4. Even after upgrading the ZAM version, the JDK version remains at 1.3.1 and the Tomcat version remains at 4. The install purposely does not uninstall the older versions in case you had other apps depending on them.

NOTE: To figure out which JDK version is in use, do the following: From a Command Prompt, type SET and press enter. You are looking for the JAVA_HOME variable.
Afterwards, you can confirm that the correct versions of JDK and Tomcat are in use by looking in Add/Remove Programs for Apache Tomcat 5.0, and by looking at your system environment variable for JAVA_HOME.
