BRDCFG.NLM stalls while trying to load.

Situation

BRDCFG.NLM stalls while trying to load.
Receive message to "Please wait"

Resolution

BRDCFG.NLM can be manually unloaded from the console. To workaround this issue: 1. Load Inetcfg 2. Select Protocols 3. Select TCP/IP 4. Disable the "Filter Support" option 5. Reinitialize System BRDCFG should now load and continue normally. Once BRDCFG setup has been completed ensure that "Filter Support" is once again enabled in Inetcfg. A more permanent solution is to edit the NETINFO.CFG file in the SYS:\ETC directory and remove the duplicate "load ipflt" line towards the end of the file. If the NETINFO.CFG file is edited you must delete the NETINFO.CHK file in the same directory to allow the checksum to be regenerated.
