Launcher (NAL)
Situation
When setting up a
ZDM7 NAL Application for the suggested GroupWise AOT
(US-NTWMS.AOT), the icon for the app does not display
in the NAL explorer window or on the desktop.
Resolution
The GroupWise
AOT file (US-NTWMS.AOT), has a built in System Requirement to hide
the icon if the file mapisp32.exe already exists on the workstation
running NAL.
This system requirement is found under the Application object ->
Availability -> Legacy -> Edit Legacy Settings button in
Consoleone. This setting can removed to allow the icon to
show for all users, but normally you would want to leave the
setting so only users who do not have MAPI installed will see the
application icon.
Additional Information
The Legacy
setting has caused some confusion with system administrators as
after configuring the app, no icon appears. This is because
Mapi is already installed on their test workstations.
