Situation
Error: The installed license driver is not Server-Mode, which is
required for this eDirectory installation. Please update your
licensing software, then re-run this installation.
When trying to install eDirectory on a Windows box that currently has, or previously had, the Novell client the NICI installation which is part of the client is set in Client mode. NICI needs to be in Server mode for eDirectory and is not automatically changed by the eDirectory installation.

Resolution
An installation of eDirectory with no client will not have this
issue because NICI is not installed at all and will be installed
initially in Server mode. To change from Client to Server
mode run the set_server_mode.bat file that comes with NICI.
This will be in the NICI directory which is, by default, in
%SYSTEMROOT%\system32\novell\nici .
This script does not affect the client's operation but allows eDirectory to be installed as well. This is comparable to the similarly-named script on other platforms.
