Situation

Every word is marked as misspelled in the subject or message body
Every word underlined in red when composing new message

Resolution

This is caused by a problem in the Windows registry. To correct this do the following:

  1. Copy WT61US.UWL (or whatever reflects your language) from the install source to c:\
  2. Run regedit
  3. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Novell\User Word List\6.1\US\US Word List 0
    1. Usually you will see: (Default) REG_SZ (value not set)
  5. Set the following 2 keys:
    1. Enabled REG_BINARY 01 00 00 00 (binary value)
    2. Name REG_SZ c:\\WT61US.UWL (string value)
  7. Restart the client
This should not be a problem after SP2 as the word list gets installed under c:\Documents and Settings
