Can Novell Clustering alert if a cluster resource goes into a comatose state?
Resolution
This can be done in two ways. 1) Native SMTP alerting 2) SNMP MIBs
SMTP/EMAIL notification
1) Configure mail notification in NRM health monitoring. https://IPaddr:8009 | health monitor | mail notification configuration
2) Configure cluster to alert. FYI: Critical alerts WILL notify comatose status. https://IPaddr:8009 | cluster config (you must have clustering loaded to see this) | click on your cluster object (3 connected red dots) | email reporting | I would chose CRITICAL and fill in your email addresses you want alerted.
3) It seems I had to off line the entire cluster to get these settings to stick (I may be wrong).
