Situation
Users are unable to install iPrint printers to SuSE 10.2/10.3
desktops even with the iPrint client installed.
Resolution
1. Go to http://localhost:631/
2. Select the Administration tab -> Edit Configuration File
- A window that you can edit will open.
3. Highlighting all the text in the Window, paste the text into a backup file, save the backup file.
4. Find and delete the text in the Conf file that reads:
# All administration operations require an administrator to authenticate...
AuthType Basic
Require user @SYSTEM
Order deny,allow
# Only the owner or an administrator can cancel or authenticate a job...
Require user @OWNER @SYSTEM
Order deny,allow
5. Save the changes. You must supply root's password.
