Situation
Symptoms:
Inbound mail from the internet that is received by Exchange
and passed to GroupWise is missing the MIME.822 header
information.
Junk Mail Handling does not function if received mail passes
through the Novell GroupWise 7 Gateway for Exchange.
Internet Mail appears as internal mail if received mail passes
through the Novell GroupWise 7 Gateway for Exchange.
MIME.822 header is missing after mail is processed by the
Exchange Gateway.
Resolution
For the Novell GroupWise Gateway - 7.x Gateway for MS
Exchange, this is working as designed.
Workaround Steps:
1. If you are using a single SMTP gateway to host email for a
GroupWise and an Exchange system, use the GroupWise Internet Agent
(GWIA).
2. Setup a mail host that is separate from either email system
to receive and then route the email to the appropriate
system. Thus each system can employ its own SMTP
gateway.

Steps to Duplicate:
1. Setup an Exchange system.
2. Setup a GroupWise 7.0.2 system.
3. Setup the latest build of the GroupWise 7 Exchange Gateway.
4. Have the Exchange system host the internet mail for both systems.
5. From an external email system, send a message to a GroupWise user.
6. See that the MIME header is not present when the message is received by the
GroupWise user.

4. Have the Exchange system host the internet mail for both systems.
5. From an external email system, send a message to a GroupWise user.
