Situation
- The
used hardware does not support a GUI based installation
- The LAG installation Process returns the
error:
Your computer does notfullfill all requirements
for a graphical installation. There is less than 96 MB
memory or X server could not be started
Resolution
- Try to make use of the"x11i=fbdev" kernel parameter as documented at:"https://www.novell.com/coolsolutions/trench/15677.html".
The x11i kernel parameter option takes effect on the x server during the installation used by YaST2. The value FBDev or fbdev is used to assign Frame Buffer device. - Run the SLES remote
installation using VNC using the kernel boot parameter"VNC=1".
For further details on this type of installation use the SUSE LINUX Enterprise Server 9 Administration and Installation document at section: "3.2 Installation with VNC".
Note:
With both of the above mentioned installation modes the LAG installation process will switch back to text mode after the initial reboot before presenting the "Novell Linux Access Gateway Administration Console" configuration screen

Analyze the following two YaST installation log files located on the"/var/log/YaST2/" directory
- Advanced Installation with Text Mode (F2 button)
- Customizing Partitions
- Configuring Date and Time
- Configuring Hardware and System
Services:
- After the initial reboot login as root user and process the Network configuration
- Access"Novell Linux Access Gateway Administration Console" configuration screendoes not appear
Troubleshooting:
Analyze the following two YaST installation log files located on the"/var/log/YaST2/" directory
