Environment

Novell GroupWise 7
Novell GroupWise 32 bit Client

Situation

When searching in an addressbook, name completion or address selector user that
has an ß (ALT-223) in his last name or userid, you will not find the user.
This only happens when the domain database and the post-office database
language are German. If the databases are in English US there are not problems.

Resolution

This has been resolved in GroupWise 7 Support Pack 3 or later.

Additional Information

1) create a domain with the name dom1 and a postoffice po1.

The database language for as well as domain as Postoffice is German.

2) create a mailbox for admin on this postoffice

3) create the following mailboxe on PO1 (userid = last name): tess

4)create a domain with the name dom2 and a postoffice po2.

The database language for as well as domain as Postoffice is German.

5) create the following mailboxe on PO1 (userid = last name): teß

(ß=ALT-0223)

6) start the groupwise client and login as admin

7) start you groupwise addressbook. In look for enter teß

6) the focus should go to teß, but is not.

You can also reproduce this problem with address selector:

1) start the groupwise client and login as admin

2) open a new email window

3) click on address (this will open the address selector)

4) in the LOOK FOR field enter teß

5) the focus should go to teß, but is not

You can also reproduce this problem with address selector:

1) open a new email window

2) in the TO field enter teß

3) name completion should offer teß, but nothing happens. You will see teß,

but normally extra information should pop-up and when you send the email this

will fail
