Microsoft Exchange 5.5
Microsoft Exchange Connector for GroupWise
Situation
Exchange users cannot 'reply to all' with messages received from
the API gateway
Internet users in the CC field are missing with reply messages using the /ARI-never switch
Internet users in the CC field are in the format of [domain.com]; UserId without the /ARI-never switch
Internet users in the CC field are missing with reply messages using the /ARI-never switch
Internet users in the CC field are in the format of [domain.com]; UserId without the /ARI-never switch
Resolution
This is working as designed for the API
gateway. The API gateway cannot use the /ARI-never switch
in this case as the Internet domain name is put in the ARI
field.
Microsoft has addressed the way they handle the address
conversion with their Connector for GroupWise. See Article 811117 on
the Microsoft Support Site.
Additional Information
Internet Addressing puts the Internet domain name into the ARI
field. It puts it in the format of: [domain.com]. Exchange is not
creating the message correctly so the message format is invalid
when replying from Exchange.
Scenario: A message is sent from GroupWise user to Exchange user with Internet recipient CC:'d. If the /ARI-never switch is used then when the Exchange user attempts to 'reply to all', the CC: field is blanked out. Removing the /ARI-never switch on the API, the Exchange users do see the CC: recipient but they are invalid.
