Environment

Novell Identity Manager 1.1a
Novell Identity Manager Identity Manager 3.0
Novell Identity Manager Nsure Identity Manager 2.0

Situation

What if any issues can I expect with the changes to daylight savings time? I found Novell TID#3008665 that talks about an issue and a link to SUN article that speaks about what appears to be the same issue... http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do;?bug_id=6530336

Resolution

For DirXML 1.1a - IDM 3.0.1 you will need to run the update program available from SUN. It's covered in TID#3950121. The SUN fix can also be applied to NetWare as the Novell solution for NetWare requires updating the JRE, which is more intrusive. Aside from the patch. There is not much to worry about. The Remote Loader isn't a factor as the only time related things the RL does is get the current time for trace tags, and for authentication via the command port. The engine isn't at risk since we don't track time zones at all and just use whatever the system time zone is. The only potential issue is for customers that use extension functions to do time conversion. There could be a problem if the customer is using one of the broken deprecated time zone identifiers. There is also the possibility with the new time and convert time tokens in IDM 3.5 if the customer selects a broken deprecated identifier for the time zone.

When you run the tzupdater from SUN. I heard that you should add the "-f" and "bc" flags as a precaution
