404 Roma errors downloading log files from Access Manager Administration Console

Situation

Access Manager 3 setup with a single Linux Access Gateway (LAG), Identity (IDP) Server and Administration Console. All components working well and LAG protected resources could be accessed by browsers after authenticating to the IDP server.

Administrator then wanted to check some of the Access Manager log files by downloading the logs from the Administration Console auditing -> general logging TAB. When selecting the log file and clicking the download command, a 404 Roma error would be displayed.

Tests showed that this only occured with IE6 and not IE7 or Firefox.

Resolution

Make sure that the Access Manager Administration Console is accessed with an IE7 or Firefox client.
