Situation

NAL Copy Error:"D018" from within an RDP session when using mapped drives.

Resolution

For ZDM7: Fixed in ZENworks 7 with SP1 Desktop Management, available at Novell Downloads

For ZDM6.5 SP2: fixed in ZENworks 6.5 Desktop Management SP2 IR1 or newer found at Novell Downloads
 
Workaround:Do not specify a mapped drive, instead use UNC paths.

Additional Information

Using an Application Object to copy files on a mapped drive from within an RDP session results in the following error:

Could not configure workstation (id=183)
Problem unable to copy file (D018)

This does not happen from the Terminal Server console or if a user is logged in to the Terminal Console with the same drive mapping and correct rights to the file as the remote user.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
  1. Create a simple application object
  2. Modify the object Distribution Options -> Application Files
  3. Choose to copy from a User's mapped drive as source and local C: as target
  4. Associate application to the user
  5. From another WS remote connection to this termianl server and log in as the User
  6. Run the application from NAL.
