Environment

Novell NetWare 6.5 Support Pack 3
Novell NetWare 6.5 Support Pack 4
Novell NetWare 6.5 Support Pack 5
Novell ZENworks 7 Desktop Management Support Pack 1 - ZDM7 SP1 Application Launcher (NAL)
Novell ZENworks 7 Server Management Support Pack 1 - ZSM7 SP1 Tiered Electronic Distribution (TED)

Situation

When using NAL and double clicking on an application object or right clicking on the application object and selecting "open", the application object fails to open. Multiple attempts to open the application object fail
The application object was created by using the Desktop Application Distribution method in ZENworks for Servers to create a copy of an Application Object in a different part of the tree.

Resolution

Problem caused by the njclv2 libraries whereby stream attributes in eDirectory are not updated correctly
Issue has been fixed in the njclv2 libraries that are contained in NetWare 6.5 SP6
Fix is as follows -
Replace the SYS:Java\njclv2 directory on the distributor and subscriber with the SYS:Java\njclv2 directory from a NetWare 6.5 SP6 server
or
Upgrade the distributor and subscriber servers to NetWare 6.5 SP6

Additional Information

When the application object is created by the subscriber, corrupt data would occasionally appear in the App:Macro stream file of the object. This corrupt data would prevent the application object from running in the users NAL window.
The corrupt data could be observed by using iMonitor and comparing the App:Macro stream file data between the original application object and the copy of the application object created by the subscriber
