Situation
After
selecting the Windows 2000 server to install MMS, the error "Error
accessing the NT Machine" is immediately returned.
The user is
authenticated to the Windows server with administrative rights and
full access to the NT share at the time of the error.
Resolution
Enabled the "Remote Registry Service" on the Windows 2000
server.
The installation process attempts to access the target
server's registry via network calls and will fail if the remote
registry service is not enabled.
The remote registry service is required even when installing
the software locally.
