Environment

Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition
Microsoft Windows 2000 Server
RedHat Linux
Solaris 9

Situation

Why am I getting this error message, Installation cannot proceed. Please apply 5.1.1.0 patch and then try the installation?

Resolution

There is a unknown issue with the patch/upgradescript.

To work around this issue, copy the content of the CD to the local hard disk. Find the file in./Disk1/Sentinel/dbsetup/bin/PatchDb.sh or .\Disk1\Sentinel\dbsetup\bin\PatchDb.bat.

Find the line "targetVersion= 5.1.0.0",change it to the latest version number of thepatch. Make sure that in your environment variable, ESEC_VERSION is not the same version as what you are patching to.

Example:

To patch Sentinel 5.1.0.0 to 5.1.1.0, change the PatchDb.bat (PatchDb.sh) from targetVersion=5.1.0.0 to targetVersion=5.1.1.0.

NOTE:For upgrading, you cannot go directly from v5 to v5.1.1. Patching paths are v5 or v5.0.1 to v5.1 and v5.1 to v5.1.1. If you are patching from v5 or v5.0.1 to v5.1.1, you must first upgrade to v5.1 before patching to v5.1.1.
