How do I manually uninstall Sentinel 5 on Solaris?
Resolution
Instructions for manually uninstalling Sentinel 5 on Solaris
As root, perform the following steps:
1. Make sure no e-Security processes are running.
2. Remove contents of /opt/esecurityXX (or wherever the e-Security software was installed)
3. Remove the following files in the /etc/rc3.d directory:
a. S98sentinel
b. S99wizard
4. Remove the following files in the /etc/rc0.d directory:
a. K01wizard
b. K02sentinel
5. Remove the following files in the /etc/init.d directory:
a. sentinel
b. wizard
6. Clean up installshield references in /var/sadm/pkg. Remove the following files from the /var/sadm/pkg directory:
a. All files that begin with IS (IS* on the command line)
b. All files that begin with ES (ES* on the command line)
c. All files that begin with MISCwp (MISCwp* on the command line)
7. Remove the esecadm user (and home dir) and esec group (make sure no one is logged in as the esecadm user before performing this step)
a. Run: userdel -r esecadm
b. Run: groupdel esec
8. Remove Installshield section of /etc/profile, /etc/.login
9. Remove the /InstallShield directory, if one exists
10. Restart the operating system
