Environment

Novell ZENworks 7 Desktop Management Support Pack 1 - ZDM7 SP1 Remote Management

Situation

Attempted ZDM Remote Management operation via eDirectory Alias of Workstation Object, fails with the following error :-

"1487: You are attempting to launch the operation from an obsolete or invalid workstation object. Verify the workstation object is valid"

Resolution

Remote Management operations via eDirectory Alias objects are not supported in ZENworks Desktop Management.
