Microsoft Windows blue screen event on a Dial Up connecton failure

Environment


Novell BorderManager 3.8
Novell BorderManager VPN Client Version 3.8.12
Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2
Microsoft Dial Up Networking (DUN)

Situation

  • User has not been logged in to the Microsoft Windows XP workstation
  • NWGINA prompts the user with the Novell Client Login screen
  • The VPN Location Profile has been selected and VPN Dial-UP has been enabled from the "Configuration" tab
  • Any Dial Up Networking connection failure will run into the following problem:
  • ERROR:"Dial-Up error has occurred. The modem (or other connecting device) has reported an error.:
  • Selecting either OK or Cancel will lock NWGINA for a few seconds and retrun the ERROR:
"The instruction at"0x73ef6100" referenced memory at "0x00000020"
The memory could not be "read"
Click on OK to terminate the Program
Click CANCEL to debug the Program"
