Inventory rollup stopped working

Novell ZENworks 7 Desktop Management Support Pack 1 - ZDM7 SP1 Inventory

Situation

The inventory service stopped rolling up to the the root server. In the properties of the inventory service object on the status report tab. This error was reported.
335: Socket Input-Output error occurred while getting the zeninvRollupTime
This was reported in the zenworksinvservice log:
ZENInv - CascadedBaseTime Client: zenInvCascadeBaseTimeService: Client Stub: Call to "zenInvCascadeBaseTimeService.getCascadingBaseTime" failed.

Resolution

The zfs-startup.xml file was blank or was missing. If missing create the zfs-startup.xml and insert the following lines.



com.novell.application.zenworks.services.webserver.ZenWebServer

(Zen volume):\ZENworks\zfs-startup.log
