Situation

Upgrading from ZENworks 4.01 to ZENworks 6.5 or 7, user created shortcuts of NAL applications are removed or become invalid.
After upgrade you can no longer view or move icons for NAL delivered applications and cannot drag and
drop icons from NalDesk or from Windows Explorer.
NAL icons that were placed in the Start Menu or Quick Launch Tray become invalid and icons from the Desktop are removed.

Resolution

For ZENworks 6.5 Desktop Management: Fixed in ZENworks 6.5 Desktop Management SP2 IR1 zfdagent.msi dated 9 Aug 2006 or newer found athttps://www.novell.com/support.

For zdm7: Fixed in ZENworks 7 Desktop Management Service Pack 1 Interim Release 3a, available at https://download.novell.com

Shortcuts need to be re-created.
Set the application object to display in the Application Launcher and the Start Menu, this will allow the drag and drop from NalDesk or Windows Explorer.
