Environment
Novell BorderManager Authentication Services 3.8
Novell Modular Authentication Service (NMAS) 3.1.2
Novell Modular Authentication Service (NMAS) 3.1.2
Situation
After applying the Security Services 2.0.3 patch or NetWare 6.5 SP6
on a server running BorderManager 3.8 VPN Server, NMAS causes an
abend.
The server will abend systematically when a VPN client tries to bring up a tunnel.
The abend occurs because the BorderManager 3.8 VPN Server does not have a replica of the user doing a VPN authentication, but BorderManager makes a local authentication request.
