Environment

Novell ZENworks Desktop Management 7 - ZDM7 Desktop Management
Microsoft Windows XP Professional Windows XP Professional Support Pack 2
HKLM\Software\Netware\NAL\1.0\WSFirstRefreshSkipNet = 1

Situation

NAL delivered applications are not available in the Start Menu or on the desktop until NAL completes its Network refresh.

When using HKLM\Software\Netware\NAL\1.0\WSFirstRefreshSkipNet the first NAL refresh after System Start reads from cache. This enables disconnectable application icons to be delivered prior to NAL checking eDirectory

Resolution

Fixed in ZENworks 7 Desktop Management Service Pack 1 Interim Release 3a, see KB 3484245 "Updates to Novell ZENworks 7 Desktop Management" which can be found at Novell Support
