Situation

In certain cases, it is desired that the username, tree, and context fields in the Novell GINA login screen be blank each time the workstation is started.

Resolution

Edit the registry as follows with REGEDIT. This will cause the username, tree, and context values to no longer appear after logging out the current user:

1. Locate
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Novell\Login\History\Contexts
Delete data for values "1" - "7"
2. Locate
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Novell\Login\History\Trees
Delete data for values "1" - "7"
3. Locate
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Novell\Location Profiles\Services\{1E6CEEA1-FB73-11CF-BD76-00001B27DA23}\Default\Tab1
Delete data for value "Context"
4. Locate
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Novell\Location Profiles\Services\{1E6CEEA1-FB73-11CF-BD76-00001B27DA23}\Default\Tab1
Delete data for value "Context" and value "Tree"
5. Locate
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Novell\Location Profiles\Services\{1E6CEEA1-FB73-11CF-BD76-00001B27DA23}\Default\Tab3
Delete data for value "DefaultUserName"
6. Locate
