Hardware Inventory of
Treo devices doesn't show serial number
Serial number doesn't show up on inventory of Treo 300 handheld devices

Duplicate handheld device objects may appear in eDir tree with (1), (2) ect until the fix is applied. The serial number is part of the information that it uses to link it and know if it is the same device.

Resolution
Fixed in a new
ZENworks Handheld Managment Agent for the Palm device. It is found
in the file ZfHClient.prc Dated 25 February 2005 or
newer.
Additional Information
Palm advertises an API
call "SysGetROMToken" to get the Serial Number. However, this does
not return the proper value on Treo devices.
