Environment
Novell Identity Manager Driver- Linux and UNIX - Fan Out
Novell Identity Manager Driver- Mainframe ACF2 Fanout
Novell Identity Manager Driver- Mainframe RACF Fan Out
Novell Identity Manager Driver- Mainframe Top Secret Fan
Out
Novell Identity Manager Driver- Midrange OS/400 Fan Out
Novell Identity Manager Driver- Core Fan Out
Situation
Trying to reinstall the Fanout Core driver but it keeps saying that it was previously installed. How do I remove a previous install so I can do a clean, new install?
Resolution
There are several installed items that need to be
removed. Use the following steps.
1 - If the Fanout driver is running, stop the
driver.
2 - Delete
the ASAM directory. If the host server operating system is
Windows, use Windows Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs.
However after a failed install, this may not work. If it
fails remove it manually using the same steps for other operating
systems.
For other operating systems, delete the Asam directory from
the hard drive of whatever operating system you installed it
too.
3 - In iManager, delete the Fanout driver.
4 - Remove the core driver from the platform
configuration file of all platforms where it is present. It
is called Fan-Out.xml.
5 - In iManager, delete the AsamMaster user from
eDirectory
6 - In iManager, delete the ASAM System container and all
containers under it.
7 - On Linux, delete the libasamcdrv.so It is installed to
/usr/lib/nds-modules/libasamcdrv.so(or
/opt/novell/eDirectory/lib/nds-modules/libasamcdrv.so on edir
88).
