Situation
Symptoms:
No NSS Pools visible using command: "nss /pools".
No NSS Volumes exported via NCP to clients.
Examination of /var/log/messages shows messages similar to the following:
NSSLOG ==> [MSAP] comnLog.c[201]
Pool"POOL" - Watching pool.
Unable to handle kernel paging request at virtual address 75c7202c

Resolution
Fix the corrupted pool as
follows:
- Add /poolautodeactivate=all to/etc/opt/novell/nss/conf/nssstart.cfg and reboot the server
- Manually activate each pool on the server to see which pool is corrupted.
- Run ravsui rebuild

Cause
The cause of NSS not loading successfully in this case after reboot was a corrupted pool .

The crash has been reported to engineering . A pool should be put in maintenance or offline state if it is corrupt; a corrupt pool should not prevent NSS from loading successfully.
