Novell Identity Manager 3.0

Situation

Is it possible to remove or hide the default "Change Password" shared page that comes with User Application?

Resolution

All of the default Shared Pages that are provided in the User application can be deleted or can have security applies so that only certain people or the admin only can see them. (One should never delete any of the Administration Pages) Below are the steps to accomplish this:

1. Login to the User Application as admin user
2. Select the Administration Tab
3. Select the Page admin Tab (if it was not selected by default)
4. Select the Maintain Shared Pages link (if it was not selected by default)
5. Select the Shared Page in question (i.e. Change Password)
6. If the required action is to delete the Page then press the Delete link, where a pop-up will appear asking to confirm if the page is to be deleted, press OK, and the page will be deleted.
7. If the required action is to change who can see the page, then select the 'Assign Permissions' button
7.a.) Select the View Tab (if it was not selected by default)
7.b.) To set it so that only admin can see the page then check the check box next to 'View Permission Set to admin Only' then press Save, and then the Close Button
7.c.) To set it so that only certain users can see the page then search for the required users, press the add button (>), then press Save, and then the Close Button.
8. Logout of the User Application
9. Login and test
