Novell ZENworks 7 Asset Management - ZAM7 Standalone
Situation
Error: "Unable to save
this Component."
Manually adding data to objects in the database.
The manual add process was working.
Stopping and restarting the ZAM Manager may stop the error for a period of time.
Manager log at the time the attempt was made to save the component change:

Resolution
Purge the MSDE
database of outdated data (ZAM Manager, Administration, Database
Purge...; the Help option provides details about purging as does
the on-line documentation).
FYI--The purge will remove outdated data but will not reduce the size of the database. The purge will empty the records of outdated data but doesn't remove empty records from the database. ZAM with MSDE doesn't provide the utility to remove empty records.
