Resolution
- On the local ZPM Update Server, open the Service Control Manager => Verify that the ZENworks Patch Management Update Agent Service is"Started†and set to "Automaticâ€.
- Launch"REGEDIT†and look for the KEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\PatchLink.com\Gravitix\, rename the SubAgent keys from the registry.
- Log back into the Update Web Interface => for ZPM 6.2 (OPTIONS => SUPPORT => RE-REGISTER AGENT) or for ZPM 6.3 (Options => Subscription Tab => . This will re-register your subscription service.
- Click on Vulnerabilities; place a check mark next to any report that looks like a clock => click Update Cache. This should re-request the package to download onto to your PatchLink Update server.
- Once the package has been requested, please check %Windir%\temp\, if the PatchLink Update Subscription agent is working, you should see a long named folder. This is a good indication that Packages are being downloaded.
For Windows 2003 Servers, a registry change can be made to use Wininet instead of Winhttp. This should start downloading the patches again.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\PatchLink.com\Gravitix\Agent\Policy]
String Value "UseWinInet"="Y"
If you can't PING by either DNS name or IP, then you need to resolve communication issues.
