Situation

Timesync debug screen appears automatically and displays errors"Unable to communicate with server ".
The server that timesync can't communicate with no longer exists.

Resolution

If using CONFIGURED SOURCES=ON be sure to specify a valid server name (or IP address) on the TIME SOURCE line. If using CONFIGURED SOURCES=OFF remove or remark out any line specifying a time source. After making changes unload and load TIMESYNC.NLM.

Additional Information

The file SYS:SYSTEM\TIMESYNC.CFG contains a line "TIME SOURCE =". That line tells the server where to look for timesync information. The time source specified will be used if there is also a line in the file "CONFIGURED SOURCES = ON". If using "CONFIGURED SOURCES=OFF" the "TIME SOURCE=" line should not have any affect but apparently does.
